At Wayne RESA we believe every student deserves to engage in meaningful learning experiences, in classrooms where teachers position them as capable to innovate, create, and think mathematically and who highlight students’ particular contributions to the classroom community.  We support teachers and schools in designing learning experiences that enable all learners to thrive in school, in their community, and in the world.

What we do

The Wayne RESA Math team supports districts, schools, and teachers as they strive to build students' robust mathematical identities and develop deep understandings for learners.  In doing so, we attend to students’ social-emotional well-being and cultural backgrounds in ways that create joyful learning experiences.  We offer support with curriculum review, adoption and implementation, evidence-based instructional practices, and equitable and informative assessment.

How we serve

We believe schools and teachers should work collaboratively to explore new pathways toward joyful and collaborative math learning. We provide leadership to teams through facilitation of meetings or learning, practice-based models of classroom instruction (e.g. learning labs), reflection on classroom practice (e.g. asset-based reflection of student work,  instructional rounds), and providing a connection between state-level projects and Wayne County schools.

Who we serve

We serve teachers and schools in multiple settings.  You will find us working regionally with multiple districts, or locally within a district.  Within those settings, we support educators at the classroom, building, and central office level.  At the heart of all of our work is the desire to serve students and their families.
